DAWSON EXECUTIVE TEAM

 Alex Bass 

Alex is the founder and current Chief Executive of Dawson Housing with over 15 years’ experience in property development and investment.

He has been investing and developing property since he was 21 years old. A true entrepreneur, his strengths lie in acquisitions, planning and business development. In addition to this, he owns a consulting company advising numerous clients across various property sectors. He was also involved in the early stage of Build to Rent working with a top rated BTR consultant before it became one of the mainstream residential sectors.

Before committing to property full time, he worked in the corporate world of insurance at Lloyds of London. Alex’s motivation for setting up Dawson is drawn from his personal experience in being a carer and understands the emotional pressure and effects faced by families through those difficult times.


Chaun Wilson

Chaun is the Chief Operating Officer at Dawson Housing and Director of Operations and Business Development.  

With a career in housing spanning almost 25 years, Chaun has worked for several Housing Associations, delivering Community Support, General Needs, Specialist Temporary Accommodation and Supported Housing.

Before joining Dawson, Chaun had held a national role with The Priory where she was Head of Provider Collaboratives. Prior to this, she was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Southdown Housing, where she was strategic lead for a range of Homelessness Prevention, Housing Brokerage, Hospital Discharge, Money Management Outreach and Independent Living Schemes for vulnerable adults and young people. 

Chaun is committed to developing and delivering innovative, high-quality services, and has a particular interest in working with marginalised individuals and communities, supporting them to develop key living skills and achieve independence.  She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and Vice-Chair of The Grow Project, a charitable organisation based in Brighton.


Alice Agyepong

Alice is the Director of Governance and Compliance and the Association’s Company Secretary.  Her remit covers corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, HR, data protection and board member services.

Prior to joining Dawson, Alice was part of the senior management Team at Arhag housing, acting as strategic governance lead and overseeing regulatory compliance.

Alice began her governance career with Genesis Housing, based in London, where she played a pivotal role in helping the association through a successful HCA In-Depth Assessment, leading to a G1 governance rating. She is committed to leading Dawson in developing high-level governance frameworks. 

Alice has a background in social security law and welfare reform, holds an LLB Law degree, masters in corporate governance and is an ICSA qualified company secretary.  


Neetu Aggarwal

Neetu is the Head of Finance at Dawson Housing and brings in over 10 years’ experience of working within different sectors. Neetu has an MBA in Finance and is a qualified ACCA.

In her previous role Neetu spearheaded setting up finance systems and processes in a start-up asset finance business, focussing on value creation and long-term growth. Neetu is committed to driving and developing robust financial systems and processes at Dawson, driving improvements and delivering sustainable financial growth. 

NON EXECUTIVE BOARD

Martin Kelly

Martin has over 30-years experience in social housing and has held a number of director level roles in housing, development, asset management and regeneration.

Martin has extensive experience as a non-executive director having served on the Board of Network Stadium and Spectrum Homes Housing Association. Martin’s career in housing development spans both the public and private sector. He has gained significant experience in providing consultancy advice to Local Authorities and Registered Providers in the delivery of new affordable homes and residential driven regeneration.

Martin brings a variety of skills to the Board, particularly in relation to business planning, strategy and risk management. 


Neil Thorneycroft

Neil is a chartered certified accountant with an extensive background in social housing and finance. Having gained a solid 40 years career in finance, Neil has previously sat on the National Housing Federations Finance Panel.

Neil currently serves on the Board at Ability Housing and the leading mental health charity Mind in Newport. Neil brings an array of skills and expertise to the Board in areas such as strategy, governance, finance, risk management, compliance, change management, leadership and strategy. Neil also has a MBA.
